„Rabbi Alissa Wise ist bei uns, um ihr neues Buch vorzustellen, das sie gemeinsam mit Rebecca Vilkomerson verfasst hat: „Solidarity is the Political Version of Love: Lessons From Jewish Anti-Zionist Organizing“, in dem sie ihr Jahrzehnt als Leiterin von Jewish Voice for Peace und dessen Bedeutung innerhalb der breiteren palästinensischen Solidaritätsbewegung reflektiert und Lehren zieht, die besonders für diejenigen relevant sind, die sich aus einer Position der Solidarität heraus organisieren.
Mit ihr im Gespräch sind Prof. Sherene Seikaly, Fellow des Wissenschaftskollegs zu Berlin (2024-25) und renommierte Historikerin für Kapitalismus, Konsum und Entwicklung im modernen Nahen Osten, sowie die Autorin, Kuratorin, Kulturtheoretikerin und Kunstkritikerin Almut Sh. Bruckstein, Gründer von House of Taswir, einer internationalen Plattform für künstlerische Forschung und diasporisches Denken
Gemeinsam werden sie Themen aus dem Buch untersuchen, die Herausforderungen und Gaben des Aufbaus einer politischen Heimat, den anhaltenden Völkermord in Gaza im Kontext eines längeren historischen Bogens und wie Palästina durch all das die Welt durch Solidarität als Akt der Liebe neu gestaltet.“

Rabbi Alissa Wise is with us to present her new book, co-authored with Rebecca Vilkomerson, „Solidarity is the Political Version of Love: Lessons From Jewish Anti-Zionist Organizing“ which reflects on their decade of leadership of Jewish Voice for Peace and its importance within the broader Palestine solidarity movement, drawing lessons especially relevant to those organizing from a position of solidarity.
Joining her in conversation is Prof. Sherene Seikaly, Fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin (2024-25) and renowned historian of capitalism, consumption, and development in the modern Middle East, as well as author, curator, cultural theorist, and art critic Almut Sh. Bruckstein, founder of House of Taswir, an international platform for artistic research and diasporic thinking
Together they will explore themes from the book, the challenges and gifts of building a political home, the ongoing genocide in Gaza as read within a longer historical arc and how through it all Palestine reconfigures the world through solidarity as an act of love.
